WEI Structure

Council

WEI Council graphic around board table 2

The Council is made up of over 35 senior leaders from our member companies. It provides a forum to shape the direction of the organisation and influence the wider sector.

Council members are regularly briefed on the latest developments in planning, policy, and market changes during meetings.

The Council defines our next multi-year strategy, setting the priorities for our committees and guiding our policy positions.

Sustaining Members hold automatic seats. Other members may be elected, giving them a vote on strategy and a voice in key industry decisions.

Council Members

Committees

IMG_0329

Our 11 specialised Committees bring together member representatives and WEI analysts to address key sector issues.

Committees meet regularly to share expertise, exchange insights, and respond to new challenges and opportunities through focused meetings online and occasionally in person.

Their mandates are guided by the strategy set by the Council, ensuring alignment across the organisation.

A full list of Committees and descriptions can be found here:

Committees

Working Groups

IMG_0339b

Working Groups are smaller teams created by Committees to focus on urgent or specialised issues such as consultation responses, legislation, or tackling niche sector topics.

They are flexible and can be created as needed. Some may be time-limited while others continue for longer depending on the issues they address. The list of active Working Groups is reviewed and updated at least once a quarter.

For members, Working Groups are a chance to deepen expertise, collaborate with peers, and contribute to strategic outcomes.
